Ashod Alemian (French)
Ashod is an experienced and very dedicated instructor of French language courses since 2002 to students of diverse backgrounds and nationalities. His courses are conversation based and tailored to meet students' practical needs covering topics of everyday life. Ashod is passionate about teaching, culturally sensitive and fully aware of the challenges students face in learning French. He specializes in conversational classes and teaches at Thomson House since 2004.
Marie Claire Gagnier (Yoga)
Introduced to yoga in 2007, Marie Claire's life took a passionate turn. Since then, her dynamic teachings blossoms through exploring bliss and alignment, while blending light and ease for the body, mind and spirit. She fuses elements of Vinyasa, Jivamukti and Blissology, along with breath awareness. Empowering her students toward lasting happiness and conscious living, her approach emphasizes healthy relationships with ourselves, our communities and nature.
Isabel Pardo (Spanish)
Isabel is a Mexican teacher and translator who started giving Spanish lessons in 1998 in different institutes and universities. She is passionate about languages and education and she is used to designing personalized grammar and conversational courses depending on the interests of her students. She believes that teaching languages is not only the transmission of knowledge, but the enjoyable process of learning how to see the world from another culture's point of view.
Alexandrina Delage (Self Defense)
Alexandrina Delage is a Senior Instructor in Combat Systema, a brown belt 1st kyu in Modern Kempo Jujitsu, and is certified in various domains of defensive tactics. She has been an instructor of co-ed and women's groups for the last 9 years and has developed and is teaching a highly efficient world-renowned self-defense program. She is also currently developing a self-defense instructor certification program. Alexandrina is known for being a passionate instructor, providing personalized coaching to each of her students. She is dedicated to teaching efficient, reality-based tactics and is relentless in making this type of work accessible to all. Above all, her mission is the devolution of violence, in all its forms, through proper training and awareness.
Peter Garish (First Aid)
Peter is a certified CPR & First Aid instructor with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Quebec. He is required to perform CPR through his professional duties and has, on numerous occasions done just that, since 2006. The outcomes are not always like he had hoped, but he does have some amazing feel good stories to tell. One thing that he noticed during medical interventions were bystanders, family and/or friends present that did not know how to perform CPR, thus precious minutes had slipped away. Peter wants to help people gain confidence during medical emergencies and firmly believes in Julius Caesar's quote: "Without training, they lacked knowledge. Without knowledge, they lacked confidence. Without confidence, they lacked victory."
Frederic Rousseau (Meditation Instructor)
Frederic Rousseau is a Buddhist meditation teacher in Montreal. He has been taught by many of the great masters of Tibetan Buddhism, mainly of Ngyima and Sakya lineages. He has also been trained in the Native American shamanic tradition. Himself practicing for twenty years, he has taught for the last ten years. Frederic's approach to meditation is down-to-earth, accessible to our modern minds and lifestyles yet it strives to preserve the sacred essence of these ancient spiritual traditions. German native Isabella Straub is a yoga teacher and graduate student at McGill residing in Montréal, Canada. After graduating from University in 2010 she travelled to Sydney where she spent 6 months. It was there where she found the joy of incorporating yoga into her everyday life, learning with Simon Borg-Olivier, and ever since, deepening her own practice in different yoga styles. A spark of destiny led her way to North America where she lives since 2014. Inspired by the teachings of Sylvie Tremblay she performed a 380hrs teacher training at Yoga Sangha, Montréal. This enabled her to share new insights into a connected, conscious life with people around her. She teaches Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin yoga, and loves to offer yoga in a way that is therapeutic, creative and accessible to all levels. With her classes, she wants to teach yoga asanas but even more the art of incorporating yoga in your daily life.
