PGSS Environment Committee
The PGSS Environment Committee (PEC) works with PGSS members, staff and executives on campus environmental issues. This includes monitoring PGSS’ policies relating to environmental issues, ensuring representation on university environmental committees and groups, and planning educational events for PGSS members that ensure interaction on environmental issues between the PGSS and greater Montreal community.
As outlined in the Society Affairs Manual, the mandate of the committee is to:
1. Assess, monitor and make recommendations for the improvement of the PGSS’ operations in relation to the environment.
2. Elicit opinions of PGSS members on the environment.
3. Collaborate with other environmental groups and offices;
4. Be responsible for the education of PGSS members on environmental issues.
5. Make recommendations to the PGSS on environmentally related matters.
Our membership includes the Environment Commissioner (chair), five at-large regular members of PGSS as well as the society’s representatives to The Senate Committee on Physical Development (SCPD) and The Sustainability Projects Fund (SPF). We’re always looking for unofficial members to help us at events as well as feedback and ideas for new initiatives and projects. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, meeting times or with questions.
